Program Summary
Graduates of the agribusiness management technology program generally pursue careers with the industries and agencies that serve production agriculture.
Areas of Study
Students benefit from the combination of classroom instruction and practical laboratory experience, which includes use of the extensive facilities at the college farm. In addition to the important basics in plant and animal agriculture, the program emphasizes business and communication skills including computer applications.
Students from the state of Vermont may apply for admission to the Farm and Agricultural Resource Management Stewards (F.A.R.M.S.) program offered in cooperation with the University of Vermont F.A.R.M.S. This program offers a seamless transition from agribusiness management at Vermont Tech to a second two years at the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at UVM.
Full-tuition scholarships are available to Vermont students in F.A.R.M.S.
Career Opportunities
Some typical career choices for graduates of the Agribusiness Management Technology program include:
- Sales and service representatives for feed, fertilizer, and equipment industries;
- Inspectors of milk and other agricultural products;
- Loan Officers; and
- Specialists with agencies such as the Dairy Herd Improvement Association and the Soil Conservation Service.

The minimum number of credits required for a degree is 67.
